Argentine-Italian conductor Santiago Jolly serves as Music Director of the Collegium Cantorum de Strasbourg and of the Musikverein Langhurst and Weier wind orchestras in Germany.
An advocate for contemporary music, he was selected by Marin Alsop as a Conducting Fellow at the 2022 National Orchestral Institute + Festival, where he led the world premiere of el is to by Elliot Roman. His work has been recognized with the Teresa Grüneisen Scholarship and the Cultural Patronage Scholarship from Mozarteum Argentino, and in 2024 he was a finalist in the 3rd National Young Conductors Competition in Argentina.
During 2021–2023, he served as co-Music Director of the Penn State Campus Orchestra and as Assistant Conductor for the Penn’s Woods Music Festival and the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra (USA). His recent engagements include a guest conducting appearance with the Ortenau Orchester (Germany), performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with Anna Plotkina and Mozart’s Symphony No. 35; covering a rehearsal for Ariane Matiakh with the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen; and regular collaborations with the Orchestre Universitaire de Strasbourg.
Trained as a timpanist, Jolly holds degrees from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina and The Pennsylvania State University and completed a specialization in conducting at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. He has developed under the guidance of Ariane Matiakh, Jean-Philippe Wurtz, Gerardo Edelstein, David Reiland, Alain Altinoglu, Miguel Etchegoncelay, Enrique Diemecke, Carlos Vieu and Theodor Guschlbauer.
